The Tajtaj Family came to Casa Angelina after suffering much neglect and abuse. Their mother suffered with alcoholism and would abandon them to live on the streets. For a time, the siblings were separated from each other, the girls going to live with an aunt and their brother living sometimes on the streets and sometimes with a grandmother. Both girls suffered sexual abuse by their uncle. And when their aunt realized what was happening, she hid them for days in the roof above her kitchen to escape their uncle’s abuse. Their situation was reported to a social worker, and they were sent to live at Casa Angelina and were reunited with their brother, Eddy, who had already been found abandoned and surviving on the streets. Theirs is a story of heartache turned into redemption. They love that they now are all living together in safety and with all their needs met. And we give God all the glory for their rescue!
