Yulissa went to college as a beautician. She now lives in the adjacent town to Casa Angelina called Chimaltenango. She works at a salon there and has clients who come for hair and nails. We know that the seeds of a life lived at Casa Angelina, the pastoral leadership, the mentoring, the counseling and truly finding Jesus as her Savior have all set her apart and will make a path of favor for all the dreams she has to help people.
When the Yoc Family arrived at Casa Angelina, they were very malnourished and depressed. While they had been growing up, their mother had suffered from cancer. While the mother was in the hospital, in his grief, their father would leave the 4 children alone. The mother returned home and soon found she was pregnant with another child. This time she had to choose between her life and the life of the child. Nobly she chose her baby boy, and after she died, the dad fell into further depression and alcoholism. The children were left completely alone to beg and suffer. Since being rescued, their lives have completely turned around. Joy and forgiveness and dreams are now their testimonies!
