Victor came to Casa Angelina for the first time when he was just over a year old. His parents abandoned him completely, and he was living with his grandmother. She didn’t have the resources to take care of Victor, so she decided it was easier to stop feeding him and let him die. He was miraculously rescued and taken to the hospital then immediately transferred to a malnutrition center where he stayed for three months. Once he was stable, he was brought to Casa Angelina. He was behind in all of the major milestones for his age due to malnutrition. He couldn’t sit up, walk, or talk yet. Casa Angelina took him to therapy to learn how to walk. Victor was a fast learner, and in no time, he was running, talking, and going above and beyond what anyone thought he would be able to do. When he was 6 years old, the judge decided to send him to live with a foster family, but it wasn’t a positive experience for Victor as they gave him back a year later. Casa Angelina was asked to receive him again. He came back on May 22, 2019, and we couldn’t be happier to have him with us again.
