Veronica and her two younger siblings, Julian and Prisila, came to Casa Angelina in February 2020. They are from a very dysfunctional family. All three of them have different fathers. Their mother worked and provided for their family but would leave them alone all day. Veronica would take care of her younger siblings whenever her mother wasn’t home. The teachers and neighbors would see the three siblings constantly alone and in danger. They made several police reports.
When Veronica was only 13, she was abused sexually. The perpetrator then threatened her, saying that he would do the same to her little sister, Prisila, if she told anyone. Her neighbors and teachers believe it was her step-father, but she reported that it was just a man who followed her home. She may still be protecting Prisila.
Months passed with nobody knowing, but when Veronica kept feeling sick, her mother took her to the clinic. That’s when the doctor discovered that she was pregnant. Veronica, just a young girl, hadn’t even known. An investigation followed where the police deemed that all three of the children were at constant risk. They immediately removed them from danger and sent them to Casa Angelina.
Casa Angelina is a safe-haven where hope and love transform. The Flores children are together, safe, lacking for nothing, being educated, and will learn the wonders of living in a relationship with their heavenly Father.
