Kati and her siblings suffered what many Guatemalan children experience. They were left to themselves, needing to find food, completely exposed and vulnerable, and living in squalor. Their condition was so bad that neighbors local to their area reported their condition. When we rescue children, we will treat them medically and assess their physical bodies, digestion, social behavior, and mental states. We quarantine them in a nice home while we gradually expose them to the complete life change and abundance of Casa Angelina. We also do this to prevent the contamination of illnesses and conditions that the children might arrive with.
The Cume family came to us in much need. They were severely malnourished, dirty from head to toe, covered in lice, and suffering from stomach parasites.
We are grateful that they are now flourishing with excellent living conditions, no illness or stomach issues, and have enjoyed delicious and nutritious food every day since they arrived.
Kati is so cute and has such a creative and playful mind. It is very special for us to give them a childhood and to know they will grow into safe, healthy, educated young adults who know their God and have the power to make a difference in Guatemala.
