When Eva was a young girl, her mother passed away. Her father had never been around, so one of her village leaders presented the orphaned Eva to a judge. Being alone and vulnerable caused Eva to become subject to abuse, and the village leader couldn’t take it anymore. She was rescued out of that situation and placed into an orphanage in the middle of Guatemala City.
From December 2011 to October 2019, Eva was raised in that orphanage. However, when she turned 15, Eva officially aged out of their program. That is when the courts contacted us.
They told us about Eva and how they didn’t want her to be left on the streets since she had no family. They said she had potential and knew she would receive an excellent education and live a quality life at Casa Angelina. We told them that we were happy to interview her. With so many young children that we are raising, there is always more risk when receiving older orphans. Still, upon meeting her, we knew that she was kind and would flourish if given the right environment.
Eva loves living at Casa Angelina, does excellent in school, has made some good friends, and enjoys helping the younger children.
