    MARÍA MARCELA RUYAN

María Marcela Ruyan is 60 years old and has been a widow for over 34 years. At a young age her husband struggled with addictions and unfortunately passed away due to them. María currently has 5 children and receives what support that can be offered from one of her daughters. María does not have the ability to read or write. Due to the generous support of our partners, María is provided for despite her inability to work any longer. We are pleased to inform our partners that as of September 2019 María has a new home and monthly support from our medical clinic.

      MARÍA DE JESÚS

María de Jesús and Julian Ruyan have been a part of our program since 2019. María is 74 years old and Julian is 72 years old. They used to both work in the fields cultivating and harvesting vegetables but now Julian is the only one that works. Julian and María have had 8 children together. 5 have passed away, 2 have their own families and 1 still lives with them. Their previous house was made up of only adobe and cornstalks however, Since October of 2019, María and Julian now live in a new home provided to them through our program. We are so pleased to not only have been blessed to provide this home for them, but to also offer them monthly food and medical support.

        JULIANA MARTIN

Juliana Martin is 62 years old and has been a part of our widow’s program since 2019. Juliana’s husband passed away after having a stroke 7 years ago. She had 6 children but tragically 1 passed away. Before we brought her into our program, Juliana’s house was made of only adobe and wood. Juliana never has had the opportunity to study and therefore cannot read or write. Currently, Juliana works in the fields harvesting pea every day. Through the generous support of our partners not only does Juliana have a new home to live in but we are able to provide for her with monthly checkups at our medical clinic and support her with food throughout the week.

          AGUSTINA SEY

Agustina Sey is 75 years old and has been part of the widow program since 2019. Sadly, Agustina’s husband passed away due to kidney failure resulting in her being a widow for the past five years. Together they had 12 children and tragically 6 have passed away. Previously her house was made of corn stalks and wood but as of October of 2019 she, and her 30 year old son, has lived in the new home our program has provided for her. She used to make a living by making weavings but unfortunately isn’t able to work anymore. We are very grateful for the support of our partners that we are able to support Agustina.

            MARÍA GREGORIA COROY

María Gregoria Coroy is 67 years old and has been in our widow’s program since 2019. María has been a widow for 25 years and has 10 children. It brings us great joy to have support enough to have provided a new home for her. Currently 2 of her children live with her along with a total of 4 grandchildren. María cannot read or write and does not have the ability to work any longer. She is dependent upon her son for support alongside our program. She is very grateful for the support that we are able to offer her due to the generous support of our partners.

            MARIA ELIAS GOMEZ

Maria Elias Gomez has been a widow for over 15 years. Maria has been in our widows’ program since 2016. We currently support her monthly with medical care and food. The very same year that she was brought into our widows program we were able to provide her with a brand new home. She has been very happy with her new house as her old one was made only of sheet metal and wood. Thanks to our partners support, Maria has gratefully reported that she can finally sleep well at night without the fear of the freezing rain getting her wet.

            OLGA CANU

Olga Canu is a single mom with three children. Her husband left her for another woman. Olga’s previous home was made of dirt, cornstalks and sheet metal. She currently works in a vegetable packing plant. With the help of our partners, What Matters has been given the ability to help support Olga’s children’s studies, provide medical care and supply food every month for her family. She’s been a part of our widows’ program since 2016. Since being a part, she has received a new home and a new quality of life for herself and for her children. She is grateful for all of the support our ministry has been able to offer to her.

              GABRIEL PEREZ

Gabriel Perez and his wife Dominga were both a part of our program since 2016 but sadly, his wife Dominga had Parkinson’s disease and cancer ultimately passing away in 2018. In 2019, What Matters was able to build Gabriel a brand new home which has allowed him to move from out of his daughters home. He has expressed how grateful he is for this gift and for What Matters Ministries, saying how uncommon an experience it is to discover people who have a heart for the elderly. He has always worked in the fields cultivating vegetables to make a living and this still is his line of work. He was recently diagnosed with heart problems and has been receiving medical care at our medical clinic monthly. We have also had the honor of providing for him food from our program.

                CARMEN TUCTUC

Carmen Tuctuc has been a widow for over 25 years and a part of our Widows’ program since 2018. Her husband lost her life to an illness that they did not have the resources to identify. Carmen has 4 children but still lives alone. Although she suffers from arthritis and can’t work like she used to, Carmen still enjoys weaving table clothes and table runners. We support her monthly with food and medical care. When we originally reached out to her she was very untrusting because in the past her daughter had been tricked by a humanitarian association which resulted in losing all of her savings. She had many doubts until the day the house was started. Once the house was finished she realized that we only wanted to bless her and she couldn’t help but express her gratitude to God and to our efforts to bless her.

                  MARIANO CATU

Mariano Catu is 85 years old and has been a widower for 40 years. His wife was very ill and passed away without any understanding of what was making her sick. Mariano has been able to study and has since completed grade 2 however he still works in the field, thankfully not every day anymore like he used to. He had two children but unfortunately one has passed away. His now only daughter and grandson currently live with him. Mariano is so grateful for the new home that we have provided to him, all made possible through our partnership together.

                    ELMA MARINA

Elma Marina Yool is 39 years old, has 6 children and has been a widow for over a year now. Her mother Modesta was in our widows’ program for a very brief time but unfortunately passed away due to kidney failure and diabetes shortly after receiving her new home. Elma’s house was previously made of only sheet metal and corn stalks but now Elma and her children live in the house her late mother was previously provided through our program. Elma has never studied and up until recently her two oldest children were the only ones working to provide for the family. Since being brought into our widows’ program, she now receives medical care form our clinic and food from our ministry every month.

                      MARIA AJXOLO

Maria Ajxolo has been a widow for the past 9 years and has been in our widows’ program since September 2019. Her husband had struggled with many medical issues ultimately resulting in his passing away in 2010. Maria is a diabetic and is now receiving the medical help she needs at our medical clinic. Her house used to be made of sheet metal, but now the house that our program has been able to provide her with keeps her warm and dry. Maria has spent most of her life tirelessly working in the fields cutting vegetables. We are blessed to now be afforded the opportunity to support Maria with monthly groceries and medical checkups at our clinic. She has expressed her gratitude at all the blessings God has provided her through the generous support of our partners from our widows program.

                        ELISA CHOY

Elisa Choy has been a widow for 30 years and a part of our widows’ program since 2019. Her husband was an alcoholic and was in a terrible accident resulting in the loss of his life. Elisa suffers from arthritis and she cannot read or write. Her previous house was made of adobe but through our widows’ program we have had the privilege of providing for her a new home. She feels very grateful for the blessing she has received in having a warm and stable home. Her daughter previously helped provide for some of her needs, but Elisa is now currently receiving monthly groceries and occasional medical help from our clinic. Elisa has expressed her heartfelt gratitude to all we have been able to provide through this program and has said that she never imagined she could have something so beautiful.

                          GABRIEL LOCH

Gabriel Loch has been a widower for 11 years and was accepted into our widows’ program in August of 2019. He lived in a house that was made of only wood and sheet metal. He still goes out and works occasionally in the fields but finds it more and more difficult as he is quite advanced in his years. We are privileged to support Gabriel with food and medical consults in our medical clinic every month. Now he is so grateful to live in his new home provided to him through our widows’ program.

                            PASCUALA DE LA CRUZ

Pascuala De la Cruz has been in our widows’ program since the middle of 2019. She has worked all of her life making and selling cheese and bread. Her husband was an alcoholic and passed away from a heart attack. Pascuala suffered a lot of domestic violence while he was still alive. She used to live in a very small home made from pieces of wood but thanks to the generous support of our partners, Pascuala keeps warm and dry within her new home.

                              ANA GOMEZ

Ana Gomez has been in the widow program since 2018. She was married twice, but both of her husbands passed away. Her first husband was an alcoholic, and her second husband had complications due to a hernia.

When her second husband passed away, she was kicked out of her house (which was made of straw and corn stalk) by her stepdaughters. Ana then moved in with a daughter from her first marriage. She didn’t have a need to work until that time, and the only job she could get was washing people’s clothing. Now she still likes to work by washing people’s clothing as she takes care of her grandchildren. She is grateful to be able to have them grow up in the best home she has ever set foot in! We also provide for her food, supplies, and medical needs.

                                INÉS SIAN

Inés Sian has been in the program since 2019. She explained that her husband passed away after suffering an illness in his brain.

Inés was traveling to and selling food in town to provide for her family. We now provide for their food and medical needs. She is very happy to have been included in our program.  Her old house was made of sheet metal, and water would come in when it rained, so she also loves her new home!

                                  REMIGIA CHOC

Remigia Choc is 84 years old. Her husband died in an accident 13 years ago. They had eight children, but sadly, three have passed away. Two of her daughters live with her; one is a widow, and one a single mom.

When Remigia was younger, she was able to study and finish the 2nd grade. We replaced her dilapidated adobe home in November 2019 with a beautiful and secure brick house. We are grateful that we have been able to include her sister María Herminia in the widow program as well. We are taking care of both their needs.

                                    EULOGIA CHOC

Eulogia Choc is 81 years old. Her husband passed away when he had an accident 25 years ago. Her daughter and grandson live with her and have been taking care of her. They are very grateful for the supplies we bring to them every month. She received a new house in December 2019 and has been much healthier and more comfortable living there.

                                      REGINA PEROBAL

Regina Perobal is 62 years old. Her husband died 20 years ago of cirrhosis. She has six children, three of whom live with her, as does one grandson. She has diabetes and hasn’t been able to work. Her house was made of adobe. She is so grateful for the new house that What Matters built for her in December 2019 and for all the medical treatment we have provided.

                                        AGUSTINA PEROBAL

Agustina Perobal is 79 years old and has been a widow for 33 years. Her husband was an alcoholic, and she said that he died due to his drinking. She had seven children; one already passed away.
She never learned how to read and write, and has worked in the fields all her life. She continues to work in the fields to make a living. She lives alone, as all of her children moved far away. Augustina is so happy when we visit her with supplies and pray with her. She is grateful for her new home and her new friends. We built her home in December 2019.

                                          MODESTA TÍNEY

Modesta Tíney is 69 years old. Her husband was in a lot of pain with bad ulcers and eventually passed away in 2017.

Modesta has five children, two of whom are twins suffering from mental disabilities. They both live with Modesta. She still works in the fields to help provide for her family, and her other children also help when they can. Her old house was a shamble of adobe and metal. She received a new home in December 2019, and now we take care of her food and medical needs, and living conditions.

                                            MARTINA XICAY

Martina Xicay is 91 years old and currently suffers from cataracts in her eyes. She has been a widow for 20 years. Her husband got sick and died; she does not know what caused his death. They had four children, two of whom have already passed away. Her daughter and three grandchildren live with her. They lived in a house made of adobe, sheet metal, and cornstalks but know live in a weatherproof, heated, brick home that we built in November 2019.

                                              BRÍGIDA SALOMAN

We rescued Brígida Saloman when she was 78 years old. Her life was always difficult and impoverished, and she never learned how to read or write. She has been a widow for 38 years because her husband was an alcoholic, and one night, when he was drunk, he fell inside a water tank and drowned. They had two children, but only her daughter is still living. Her daughter is married and has ten children. We built Brígida a home in November 2019 and, she is happy to have her whole family living with her in the warmth and safety of her beautiful home.

                                                VICENTA PICHIYA

Vicenta Pichiya has lived in fear for her 76 years of life. Her stepmother exploited her a lot when she was young, forcing her to work while never allowing her to go out. Vicente was always afraid of having a relationship of any kind. She never married and never had children.

Her life has been spent working in the fields and making weavings.

When we rescued her, it was a divine appointment because she had broken her arm and needed proper care. We were able to take her to our medical clinic, where she received treatment and now has fully recovered. We built her a house in October 2019 and continue to take care of all her needs. For the rest of her life, she will have friends, people who love her, and we will redeem the lost years with the abundance God has provided.

                                                  CELIA MUHUN

Celia Muhun is 82 years old. She has been a widow for over 25 years. Her husband was an alcoholic, and they had two children. Celia has osteoporosis and eye problems and is being treated and monitored at our medical clinic. Celia is entirely dependent as she never learned to read or write, and doesn’t work. Her 60-year-old daughter lives with her and cares for her. We built her new home on November 13, 2019.

                                                    MARIA LUISA SIAN

María Luisa Sian has been in the program since 2018. When she was rescued, we found her with a badly damaged leg and immediately took her to the clinic. She was so grateful for the help. Since she has been in the program, she has received a new house, monthly food stores, and medical help.
She has two grown daughters who have their own families and don’t live with her. She lives alone and is grateful for our friendship.

                                                      BRAULIA CHOC

Braulia Choc has been a widow for 45 years. In tears, she explained to us that her poverty was so extreme that she watched one of her children starve to death, unable to aid her. We rescued her in 2019, and she praised God for His goodness. She has worked all her life cleaning houses and working in the fields but lived a mostly lonely life. She has since expressed that guests come over frequently now that she has a home. She is very grateful for the help she has received, her new house, her food every month, and her medical care.

                                                        FELIPA & EMILIANO

Felipa & Emiliano are married and were accepted into the widow program due to living in extreme poverty. Both of them have had health issues as well. Emiliano can’t speak; he is mute.
They have been in the program since October 2019. The house they had was made of adobe and corn stalks. They are very happy and never imagined that God would do the impossible and give them a beautiful home.
They have three children who have not received any education. They all work in the fields.

                                                          MARIA HERMINIA CHOC

Herminia has been a widow for a little more than a year. With her husband having health issues and being diabetic, he suffered a heart attack and passed away.
We built Herminia a new home in September 2019. The house that she lived in was made of adobe and sheet metal, but she didn’t own it. Her husband had left her a small piece of land before he passed away, and we were able to build her a house there. We are grateful to take care of this beautiful lady. She receives groceries and medical help each month.

                                                            ALBINA AJQUEJAY

Albina has been a widow for 19 years. Her husband passed away due to gastric problems. Albina worked as a cook to be able to provide for her family. She has been part of the widow program since 2019, receiving her new home in December. She is very grateful for her warm, sturdy, and spacious home, for all of the help with groceries and her regular medical consults.

                                                              MARIA CANU

Maria Canu has been a widow for seven years. Her husband suffered from a hit to the head. As the years went by, he suffered and eventually passed away, not being able to receive medical help. Maria Canu has had her own health issues attributed to problems with her kidneys. She has been part of the widow program since 2019 when she moved into her new home. She lived in a house constructed of adobe and pieces of wood and would work hard in the fields cutting vegetables. Now she is receiving help; monthly groceries, monthly medicines, and health check-ups.

Her daughter has a mental disability and was raped two years ago. She had a baby in May 2019 but was not mentally capable of keeping her baby girl. Maria couldn’t take care of her either due to her living and economic situation. The baby was taken from them and sent to an orphanage. A few months after Maria became a part of the widow program, she told us of her granddaughter. We were able to get her transferred to Casa Angelina! Her granddaughter now has a beautiful future, and Maria gets to have visits with her.

                                                                BERNADA LOCH

Bernada has been a widow for a year. Her husband had a stroke and passed away. She and her husband had three children, one of whom is a single mother of a young daughter and her other two children live next to her. She lived in an adobe and sheet metal house when we found her. Bernada cannot read or write but used to work and make money by weaving and selling her weaving; however, she cannot work anymore. She has a good relationship with her children, and they help her in any way they can. Her new house was built in October 2019 and given to her on November 3, 2019. It was a very special time for her and her family. We now take care of her and are showing her more and more just how special she is to her Heavenly Father.

                                                                NARSISA

We are gathering information as she is the latest one to have joined the program.

                                                                NICOLASA ESQUIT

                                                                Coming soon

                                                                SERGIDA ARGUETA

Sergida takes care of her handicapped daughter who is wheelchair bound. Sergida is diabetic and receives assistance from our medical clinic.

                                                                  MERCEDES OLGA YAL YAL

Doña Olga lives near Casa Angelina with her only son. She grew up helping her mother by making cheese and selling it since the age of 10. She had only been married one year when her husband died in a car accident. She was only 23 years old. She struggled making enough money to meet her basic needs. She made a living selling cheese for a time, but due to kidney problems, she no longer works. Casa Angelina found her in a terrible situation, living in a simple village home that constantly let air and rain in. Because of the generosity and work of our teams, she now she has a home that keeps her warm and dry!

                                                                    MARTA UMU

Marta is a widow we help onsite at Casa Angelina. In 2004, her husband was hit and killed by a semi truck while walking to work. Marta’s husband was a very controlling and abusive man. As a widow, she found it very hard to support herself, as well as her four children. She worked in the fields, making 25 Quetzals a day (around $3 US).

Six years later, we met Marta through her cousin who worked for Casa Angelina. Shortly after, she started working for us as well washing clothes. We were able to visit her at her home and realized that she had almost no shelter. Thanks to a team that came to Casa Angelina, we were able to build her a new home.

She has been working at Casa Angelina for five years and now works in the kitchen where she is known for her amazing tortillas! We are so happy for Marta because she now has a beautiful home, a better quality of life, nutritious food, and a job that allows her to spend weekends with her children.

                                                                      MARIA CANDELARIA MENDEZ

Doña Maria is a widow we help take care of. She began working when she was 13 years old washing clothes, and she remembers being overloaded with too much work. She married when she was 22, and she and her husband had seven children. They both worked in the fields planting vegetables.

On February 4, 1976, Maria was holding her three-month-old baby, and a huge earthquake hit and destroyed their adobe house. Her baby was killed, and her back was injured. She has suffered from pain ever since that day. Her husband was able to build a new house, but it was only made out of sticks and pieces of wood, so it did not keep the cold out. In 1995, her husband died from malfunctioning organs. She continued working in the fields for a time but could not do so for long because of her pain. When she didn’t have anything to eat, her son would try the best he could to provide for her.

In 2010, Casa Angelina was able to build her a new house that keeps the cold and rain out. She loves the warmth of her home, and she especially enjoys making tortillas on the stove that was provided for her. Casa Angelina is able to supply her with monthy food supplies and pure water, and she is very grateful for this help. She lives with eight of her family members in her house and smaller houses on her property. She also suffers from respiratory problems, and Casa Angelina’s clinic is available to her for regular treatment. She is an incredible, sweet woman, and we are so thankful to be able to help her!

                                                                      LIONSA MECHEN DE LA CRUZ

Lionsa works as a caretaker of and guardian over the crops and fields. Her husband died years ago after getting very sick. Lionsa has 4 children.

                                                                      MAGDALENA MUS LUX

Magdalena Mus has been part of her program since 2012. Her husband was an alcoholic, and he passed away from drinking too much. She has been a widow for more than 30 years. She had to work many jobs to be able to provide for her children. She would work cleaning houses and also selling fruit. She is very grateful for all the help, food, and friendship she receives from What Matters.

Magdalena lives in El Porvenir, Patzicia.

                                                                        MARCOS & MARGARITA XICAY AJSIVINAC

Marcos and Margarita live in extreme poverty and are helped monthly with food provisions. Their 75-year-old blind son, Casimiro, lives with them.

                                                                        ESTANISLADA MATZUL ALONZO

                                                                        Estanislada lives in Acatenango.

                                                                        GLENDY ORDONEZ

Glendy doesn’t remember birthday but is approximately 18 years old. At age 16, Glendy was raped by a man that worked in the fields near her house. She never saw him again, and she had a baby boy, Alvaro, later that year. Her whole family works in the fields making $2.00 a day. She lives with her parents and 5 siblings in extreme poverty. When she came to the clinic for the first time, her baby was near death with pneumonia. Our clinic staff took him to the emergency room at a local hospital where he stayed for 10 days. He has since fully recovered. Glendy has only been to 1st and 2nd grade. She has a dream of studying, graduating, and giving her son a good future.

                                                                          ENCARNACION LIBON SALOMON

Encarnacion was born in 1925 but does not remember the exact date. She lives in a village called Hierbabuena.

                                                                            CELIA MICULAX

Doña Celia has been a widow since 2003. Her five children were very young when her husband died, making it extremely hard on her. In desperate need of a job, she asked a nearby farmer if she could work in his field. He agreed, upon the condition that he could have his way with her, and she saw no other option. As a result, Celia was impregnated and gave birth to a daughter.

Her family would eat vegetable broth with tortillas for every meal and had nothing else. All seven of them would sleep in two beds with a firepit in the middle of the house that constantly filled it with smoke. She felt a great weight lifted off of her when we were able to build her a new home. Because of the size of her family, her new house consists of two bedrooms with bunk beds so that each child has their own bed, and a wood stove that keeps their house warm and smoke-free. She was able to get back on her feet and now raises chickens and receives continued help from Casa Angelina. She also works in a field every day and is able to also provide for her family. We are so thankful that her life is improving as each day passes.

                                                                              DOLORES CURRUCHICHE

Doña Dolores lives in El Sitán with nine members of her family. As a young girl, she had always wanted to go to school, but her parents did not allow her the opportunity. Instead, she stayed at home and worked in her house. When she was 18 years old, she left her family and lived with a man named José Lorenzo, who became the father of her two children. Unfortunately, he was believed to be killed in the civil war in Guatemala. She remembers that it was on September 21, 1985, when he went missing in action. She never heard from him again.

Her family struggled in their living conditions. Their house was made of cornstalks, and the torrents of rain would fall right inside. Even though her family helped support her, all of their money had to be used for food, and there was not enough to contribute to building a new house. Dolores would work in the city making tortillas, earning a low income. From time to time, she would work harvesting corn, sugarcane, and coffee, and she later had two more children.

Dolores was invited to go to church in 1993, and from then on went to church every week and developed a relationship with God. There was a time in her life in which she developed severe arthritis in her feet, and her eyes were blinded for eight months. No one in her family could afford for her to see a doctor, and she was in her bed for two years. She prayed to God and said that He healed her body completely, and now she can see and function well. Every Monday, Dolores goes out to visit the sick people in her community.

In 2008, Casa Angelina was able to build Dolores a new house, and she and her children and grandchildren are so thankful for a warm, rain-proof home. We are also able to provide her with monthly food, a regular pure water supply, and medical attention.

                                                                                DOMINGA & GABRIEL PEREZ JEREZ

Dominga and Gabriel live in extreme poverty. Dominga has an extreme case of Parkinson’s and was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2015. Since then, the cancer has spread throughout her entire body. The doctors haven’t given her much time to live. Please pray for her.

                                                                                EMILIANA CUSCUN

Emiliana lives in Tululché. She is Angela’s mother-in-law.

                                                                                  CECILIA PIR HERNANDEZ

Cecilia lives in Paguit, Patzicia. Her husband passed away years ago after getting very sick. Cecilia has diabetes and receives assistance through our widow program.

                                                                                    BIOQUINTA & AGUSTIN LOCH

Doña Bioquinta is supported by Casa Angelina. Her husband, Augustin, is still alive but is in very poor health. Bioquinta doesn’t remember much about the earlier part of her life, but her husband remembers that she was 25 when they got married. They are now both in their 80s. Bioquinta used to work full time, hauling corn to a grinding machine three times every day. She no longer works due to her age and health, but her husband, who has always worked in the fields, continues to do so. Now, due to his age, he is only able to work in the fields two days a week, making only 35 Quetzels a day (equivalent to about $4.25).

They lived in extreme poverty, lacking food, and rain leaked through their cornstalk shack. They used to build a fire right next to their small wooden bed for heat, and their house was full of smoke and soot. Casa Angelina tried for years to improve their lives by building a house and buying them a new stove, but Bioquinta refused help because she was afraid of change and the ecological stove. However, after a time, she opened up to us, and we were able a build them a new home with a stove, and we now continually provide them with food and water. They live next door to their daughter, Celia, who is another widow supported by Casa Angelina. They are very grateful to have their prayers answered and to have the support of food, clean water, and medical care brought to them in their new home.

                                                                                      ANGELA AJSIVINAC

Doña Angela lives in close proximity to Casa Angelina. When recalling her childhood, the first thing she remembers is being much stronger than she is now. When she was 10 years old, she began working with her dad taking care of cows. She never attended school. At the tender age of 17, she was married and worked with her husband in the fields. They had four children—three daughters and one son. Her husband earned only 30 Quetzals a month, which is less than $4 US. They lived in a house made out of dried cornstalks. Her husband began to suffer from a kidney infection in 2006, which continued for a year until he passed away in 2007. Years later, she still misses him greatly. She said he used to always take care of her whenever she was sick, and when he passed, her family really struggled.

Casa Angelina was able to help by building her a house and regularly taking her food and water. Since she suffers from nerve problems, Casa Angelina picks her up regularly to bring her to the onsite Mercy Clinic, where she receives treatment and medicine. For her income, she sells milk from her cow and also raises chickens. She is very grateful to God for taking care of her and for the help she receives. We are very thankful to our supporters because with their support we were able to provide her a new home.

                                                                                        AGRIPINA CHACAJ CHOPOX

Agripina lives in Caserio Santa Maria, Patzicia. She is not a widow, but her husband is unable to speak or take care of himself. She doesn’t know what happened to him. He was fine one day and the next day he was in a vegetable state. She originally came to the clinic to get help for her diabetes, and immediately the clinic staff saw the great need that she had and went to investigate. Soon after, she was accepted into the widow program. She is very grateful for all the help.
