When Selena was only two months old, her parents gave her away to her aunt. For years, while living there, she suffered severe physical abuse and would often take to the streets in search of someone to care for her. When Selena was 12 years old, her aunt took her to the judge and gave up her custody because she believed that Selena would be better off at an orphanage. Selena was then brought to Casa Angelina. Here, she was able to receive an education, care, and a family. She is now married and living her life in a city close by. Since coming to Casa Angelina, Selena’s personality has shown to be one of strength in character, playfulness, and joy in life.
