When Wendy and her siblings came to Casa Angelina, they were very malnourished and had gone through severe suffering. Wendy’s parents were alcoholics who would severely abuse her and his siblings. As just one example, the siblings would be tied around their necks with ropes and dragged through the house. Wendy and her siblings were also left completely alone for many days at a time with little to no food or provisions. Some time later, they were found, rescued, and brought to Casa Angelina. Here, Wendy and her siblings were able to receive the love and care they never received before. Wendy has now graduated from high school and is making her way through college.
